Entrepreneurship, talent and «The Skandi Wave» at FASHION FORWARD 2013

Wednesday 15 October, during Oslo Innovation Week, fashion and creative professionals, entrepreneurs and adepts gather at DogA for FASHION FORWARD 2013 by Norwegian Fashion Institute.

This is the third FASHION FORWARD seminar hosted by Norwegian Fashion Institute and this year’s program focus on entrepreneurship, bringing talent to the international market, new and digital showcase arenas and «the Skandi wave». In addition to providing knowledge, tools and inspiration, FASHION FORWARD is a meeting place for professionals working in fashion and related industries. fashionFokus is project manager for the second time, after  organizing the first FASHION FORWARD seminar in 2011.

Key-notes include Stefan Siegel (NOT JUST A LABEL), Alexander Eskeland (SWIMS), David Baker (School of Life) and Dr. Atle Hauge.

Stefan Siegel
Stefan Siegel gave a superb presentation at FASHION FORWARD 2011. Siegel is the CEO and founder of NOT JUST A LABEL (NJAL), a leading global platform for emerging fashion designers and ranks among the most respected websites in the fashion industry. The designer platform represents over 13,000 designers from 100 countries. It is an infinitely expanding destination devoted to facilitating growth in the fashion industry and has established itself as a distinctive creative hub fostering innovation.

David Baker
David Baker is a London-based writer, coach and consultant. His work has appeared in many publications including Wired, the Financial Times and Wallpaper. He was the launch managing editor of Wired in the UK and currently teaches at The School of Life in London. Baker specializes in using simple language to bring complex topics to new audiences.

Dr. Atle Hauge
Atle Hauge (PhD) is a Senior Researcher at Østlandsforskning. He has a special research interest in creative industries and has written several papers on the Swedish fashion industry. Dedicated Followers of Fashion (Uppsala University, 2007) is one of them.

Alexander Eskeland
Alexander Eskeland is the CEO of SWIMS (2005), a Norwegian lifestyle brand famous for their colorful galoshes. The products can be found in more than 700 stores in 30 countries across the globe.

Gisle Mariani Mardal
Gisle Mariani Mardal is the manager of Norwegian Fashion Institute.
